Does anybody know how I get service named picons to show in the channel list, only service id picons will show right now.

I have a problem to get it to work in the channel selection list, it works in the info bar and lcd but not channel selection. Any ideas please?

Hi all I would like to know if it is possible to use picons that are named the same as the channels for example for BBC 1HD the picon would be named bbconehd.png. I can't seem to find any info on this forum about doing this, I know it is possible in other images such as PLI but I love my newnigma2 and don't want to use another image.

Have you tried a new satellites.xml?

That's a strange problem then you should not get these messages if the box is in standby as the tuner would be available to record, maybe someone with more knowledge will offer help. All I would try would be a reflash, maybe the update did not run 100% correctly. Sorry I can't help more.

Hi Smasher you should only get these messages if you do not have a tuner free at the time a timer recording is about to start. Its just to let you know its changed channels in order to complete your timer, if you have a free tuner @ recording start time you will not get this message. As far as I know you can't disable them, I have never seen that option anyway but I could be wrong.

Hi i have had all sorts of problems with my 8000 after the power supply got weak and i replaced it. My syptoms were randon reboots, picture pixelation very bad, picture freeze and the whole box would freeze requiring a reboot. Hi Admin. I have a problem with the forum that i can't resolve using my user cp. If i am not logged in ie browsing the forum as a guest i see all the latest post such as Newnigma2 v4.0.8 However once i log in the latest i see in that section is the announcement for v4.0.3, this means when logged in i miss some posts untill i log out.

Hi what do you guys recommend is the better one to use a usb flash drive or a compact flash card? I currently use the DMM supplied 2Gb usb stick plugged in the internal usb slot of my 8000, i use this with a 256mb swap and some picons. Would i see better performance if i use a cf card and if so what is a good card to buy? Thanks.

Just an update, this seems to be working again now in the unstable images dated from 20/04/10. Thanks to the team for fixing it.

Hi all does anyone have a problem getting the "Check for firmware updates" feature to work. I can not get it to work on my 8000 it does not matter if i use the stable images or the unstable ones this feature does not work. It worked once when the feature was first introduced but has not worked since, i have reflashed many times with new images both stable and unstable but still it will not work. Right now i am on the latest unstable image and this morning again i did not get a message that new f…

I have had this problem with my 8000 in the past and a reflash has always fixed it.
