DNS Resolve ping wget .. from console

    • DNS Resolve ping wget .. from console

      Hi

      DM 800 PVR 3.2

I have the following DNS Config
      nameserver 192.168.1.1

      Internal in the same Subnet:
PING and wget internal works with names like ping hostA
      Ping wget ...

      External to the internet :
      ping google.ch -> bad Address
Just a Remark " Plugin download and upgrades are working !!
So it is not the config of Network and DNS

As son as I attach an external DNS
      it is slow but working
( Internal DNS not resolving but external)

Seems that the 3.2 release does somethin strange with the DNS

If I do the same from a DM 600 with Gemini 4.7 everthing works fine

      Could someone test

Many thanks for feedback and Ideas

    • Use Ethereal and create a trace in your network using a mirror port of your Switch/Router. There you can check if the DNS request is sent to your DNS and if it is answered correctly.
