    • Newnigma2 v3.3.2 + DM800se + Wave Frontier with 5 LNBs: Multiple LNB settings??

      Hi.

I have a Dreambox DM800se with the Newnigma2 latest v3.3.2 image and I have recently bought the Wave Frontier Dish (T90) and installed 5 LNBs for the following satellites and at the following LNB positions:

      LNB 1: Hotbird (13.0E)
      LNB 2: Astra (19.2)
      LNB 3: Eurobird 9A (9.0E)
      LNB 4: Astra 2/Eurobird 1 (28.2E)
      LNB 5: Hellas Sat 2 (39.0E)

The problem is that for some reason with the Advanced setup this is not tuning correctly, i.e. although I am using settings as below, it seems this is not using the correct LNBs to tune with the correct Satellite and download the channels it should:

      Configuration mode: Advanced
      Satellite: Hotbird (13.0E)
      LNB: LNB 1
      Priority: Auto
      LOF: Universal LNB
      Voltage mode: Polarization
      Increased Voltage: no
      Tone mode: Band
      DiSEqC mode: 1.1
      Toneburst: None
      Committed DiSEqC command: None
      Fast DiSEqC: yes
      Sequence repeat: no
      Command order: committed,uncommitted,toneburst
      Uncommitted DiSEqC command: Input 1
      DiSEqC repeats: None

      Configuration mode: Advanced
      Satellite: Astra (19.2E)
      LNB: LNB 2
      Priority: Auto
      LOF: Universal LNB
      Voltage mode: Polarization
      Increased Voltage: no
      Tone mode: Band
      DiSEqC mode: 1.1
      Toneburst: None
      Committed DiSEqC command: None
      Fast DiSEqC: yes
      Sequence repeat: no
      Command order: committed,uncommitted,toneburst
      Uncommitted DiSEqC command: Input 2
      DiSEqC repeats: None

      Configuration mode: Advanced
      Satellite: Eurobird 9A (9.0E)
      LNB: LNB 3
      Priority: Auto
      LOF: Universal LNB
      Voltage mode: Polarization
      Increased Voltage: no
      Tone mode: Band
      DiSEqC mode: 1.1
      Toneburst: None
      Committed DiSEqC command: None
      Fast DiSEqC: yes
      Sequence repeat: no
      Command order: committed,uncommitted,toneburst
      Uncommitted DiSEqC command: Input 3
      DiSEqC repeats: None

      Configuration mode: Advanced
      Satellite: Astra 2/Eurobird 1 (28.2E)
      LNB: LNB 4
      Priority: Auto
      LOF: Universal LNB
      Voltage mode: Polarization
      Increased Voltage: no
      Tone mode: Band
      DiSEqC mode: 1.1
      Toneburst: None
      Committed DiSEqC command: None
      Fast DiSEqC: yes
      Sequence repeat: no
      Command order: committed,uncommitted,toneburst
      Uncommitted DiSEqC command: Input 4
      DiSEqC repeats: None

      Configuration mode: Advanced
      Satellite: Hellas Sat 2 (39.0E)
      LNB: LNB 5
      Priority: Auto
      LOF: Universal LNB
      Voltage mode: Polarization

      Sequence repeat: no
      Command order: committed,uncommitted,toneburst
      Uncommitted DiSEqC command: Input 5
      DiSEqC repeats: None

With the above Advanced setup I could see only about 2200 channels found.

I have confirmed with my Technician that the Dish is installed correctly the and LNBs are working fine and installed at the correct positions, in other words we have confirmed that there is no problem with the Wave Frontier.

A 2nd confirmation that the Wave Frontier and LNBs are installed correctly came when I tried the Simple Setup of the Newnigma2, with the following simple settings:

      Configuration Mode: simple
      Mode: DiSEqC A/B/C/D
      Port A: Hotbird (13.0E)
      Port B: Astra (19.2E)
      Port C: Eurobird 9A (9.0E)
      Port D: Astra 2/Eurobird 1 (28.2E)
      Set Voltage and 22KHz: yes
Send DiSEqC only on satellite change: no

With the above simple setup I could find (tune) all possible channels for those 4 satellites (A, B, C, D) and totally about 4100 channels!! (Note: At simple setup you can setup only up to 4 satellites, not more).
And I can confirm I would see BSkyB at 28.2E and other that I would never see before when trying different settings at the Advanced setup!!

Note that I have the Neco 8 DiSEqC (I think this is compatible with the 1/8 Centauri, but I am not sure, I am new to those things!!) :(

So, I obviously need help with the Advanced setup, so that I can setup and enjoy all 5 satellites and not only 4 of them.

Is there anyone that could please help me and suggest me the best possible settings for my image (v3.3.2) and hardware (5 LNBs and the DiSEqC) configuration??

Thank you so much for reading all this and I hope someone can help me in the end!!! :)

    • what protocol support your switch?

simple mode uses "Committed DiSEqC command"s - protocol 1.0 or 2.0
"Uncommitted DiSEqC command"s send in protocol 1.1

sometime is enough Increase voltage for problematic LNB,
      sometime helps Repeat command
sometime set one Fake Committed command before needed Uncommitted

      imho:
if your switch has free inputs then better leave first empty.
when LNBs count more than fiwe then configure them trough edit lines "config.Nims.*" in the /etc/enigma2/settings
      and `killall -9 enigma2` after save shanges
