    • Dann lies meine ganze (!)

    • Recently I had to install the file system from scratch on my 7020 HD. I had a backup of my image using this software. I stored my backup image on my computer. Then, using dreamup I tried to flash the file system but could not upload the whole file system...

As flash tool for my backup I used nfiwrite. This works only if you flash the file system from the plugin?

Should as flash tool use none in order to flash it from dreamup?

      Thanks.

    • Is your backup bigger than (or near to) 128 MB? If yes, you will not be able to flash it directly with standard tools.
In this case, just flash the standard newnigma image (via browser or dreamup), install dflash, and flash your backup using dflash after.

    • I do not have the backup on me right now but I guess it is larger....

So that was the reason...will let you know...

To be double sure as backup tool when making a backup image should I always use mkfs.jffs2 ?

And when using this plugin to flash an image, should I set to recovery or nfiwrite ?

      Thanks

    • I did a lot of backups and re-flashs with dflash 13.7 on my two 7020HDV2; I never changed any of the default settings, so I even do not know which settings I am using. I just used the 2 buttons (green: Backup, yellow: Flash), and always everything worked fine. And yes, my backups also are > 128MB

    • The reason was that my backup is larger than 145MB...

      Thanks for your time.

And thanks for those writing this incredible software,,, I used it on my DM800se about a year ago.

    • I am having problems backing up my 7020HD. I uninstalled dflash and did a fresh install but I am still getting the error in the attachment. My Backup image should be larger than 100MB..

      Any help appreciated.

      Thanks.

    • I/O-errors most likely show that your HDD has a problem. I suggest you try a different HDD before any more trials with software.

    • Thanks for your suggestion but seems that it is not solving the issue.

Yesterday, I initialized my USB drive from image menu and recorder a broadcast to test it. It worked fine but when backing up the image it is showing the same error.

    • maybe the log-file of dflash would tell you what is the real problem.....
And: I did search a little bit; looks like the I/O-Error will also be shown if you try to backup a corrupt file system, see here.
so: check the dbackup.log, maybe it tells you that a specific file has a problem. If not, probably the only solution is using an old backup or flash a clean new image. :(
