      Hi there !

      Im an happy new owner of a DM 800. >But RC is not working well. I have to be very close to the receiver. Its really annoying. I Have an Phillips LCD 37 latest model.
      I have changed the batteries, tried without the LCD on (cuse of interference...and the same)

      I can automatically change my TV with the DM 800 RC quite good actually. So I guest is the infra red receiver from the DM800 wich is bad ?

      I dont know how to fix it. Or is it like that ? Anyone having the same... ?

    • No problems here, you could try cleaning the remote & Dreambox screen too, i know that´s a longshot, but maybe worth trying.

      If all fails, contact your dealer & ask for a new remote. If that does not help, ask for a whole new Dreambox.

      did you remove the plastic foil fom the display? The DM 800 is delivered with a protective foil, that has to be removed. It has been heared, that some user didn't remove it and also reported this behaviour. ;)

      is this problem neverending story like diseq problem?

      does new frontpanel solve problems with RemoteControl?

      when Tv(Philips 42pfl9703h) is OFF then 100% of sent commads goes to 8k
      when Tv is ON then only 20%
      when Tv is ON and roomlight(halogen) is ON then around 80%

      p.s.
      800 has similar problem but not that crime


      first i though it is some specific ligt gamma emited from tv, BUT NOT
      that is someting other than ligt filter in frontpanel

      when i discinnected DVI and connected SCART Remote Control started to work without any problem (no mater room ligt is ON or OFF and how far is 8k from tv)
      connected back DVI(on hot) and RC still work perfect(as newer before)


      i think that is firmware problem not IR filter on frontpanel,
      maybe Philips tv tryes to talk with device connected on HDMI, but dreambox doesnt understand and becomes crazy cause that
      (like any dreambox model is litle freezie when LNB isnt connected)

      another strange thing is: dm8k works litlebit better with remote control of dm7020 than its native RC

    • well tkz for all. Ill try with scart to see if any changes. I keep you posted. The seller said its becuse of the TV also & that there is nothing to do....
      Ill write something to DB in Germany...
