Ich zB möchte selbst entscheiden, was in mein neues Image hineinkommt.

    • Hi antonlamers,

first, there is no plug-in that will automatically do so, you habe to manually save and restore your backups.
To do so, you have to first install the "NewNigma² ConfigSave" plug-in from within the on-line plug-in installer. After that start the "NewNigma² ConfigSave" plug-in, select the location to store the backups (e.g. HDD, SD, CF or USB) and select the options you plan to be saved. Now press the red key on your remote to start the backup. There will be another security hint you have to confirm by pressing the "OK" key.
Now you can flash the new image to your Dreambox. After flashing, you have to install the "NewNigma² ConfigSave" again. Newer NewNigma² images have the plug-in already pre installed, so then there's no need to install from the feed again.
At last you have to start the plug-in again, select the location and all options you saved before and press the "green" button (RESTORE). Then again the security hint pops up again and has to be confirmed by pressing "OK". Now your data is restored from the backup. That's it. ;)

      Hi,

as LoUiS wrote, our ConfigSaver (located: blue button, newnigma2-services, system setup) saves almost every stuff we need for setup a new image.
netcaster.cfg isn't saved at the moment, but if this file is needed, I will save it in the next version.

Perhaps you can tell me where this file is stored ("/etc" ????)

      Have a nice day.

      Hi,

The netcaster.cfg and the cccam.cfg are stored in /etc.
For that automaticly restore it is a script that runs one time, only the first boot.
When you install milo's image milosoftware.com/dreambox/en/index.php?body=download
you can find it in /etc/init.d/milosettings.sh
it's a restore from ssh keys, softcam and samba configuration and also the setting list witch stored in /etc/inigma2

As dumbo already wrote, it is not everyone's gusto to automatically restore previous stored backups after the first start, myself included. I would prefer the restoring point for myself with the given "NewNigma² ConfigSave" Plugin. ;)
Please don't misunderstand my arguments, I do not want to offend you, but i think this way every user can select the restoring point himself.

      cheers

Everything is said about this suggestion:
      We won't change anything.

But in the next version of the NewNigma2-configSaver-Plugin I will add the netcaster.cfg file.
