What make you think you could format it without first having a partition on it? I am not a guru of flash cards. But partitions in linux and Unix works like this.... Do you have a hardisk? If so.... type "fdisk -l" and you will see the partition type that is on it. If you then type "mount" you will see the filesystem "ext3" on top of that. So the harddisk has a Linux partion on it with Id 83 and a ext3 filesystem on top. If the flash card has a partition on it from scratch it's probably MsDos/FAT…

Hi I think of put in a CF card in my DM8000. Among other things I will put a SWAP file on it. I don't want to put the SWAP on the HDD as it's configured to shut of after 10 minutes... Does anyone know if there are any limitation of what CF cards that will work in DM8000 on Newnigma2 2.8.3? I Think of a Transcend 300x 4GB card that is rocket fast and has a resonable price tag. Hi It would be very nice if it would be possible to create directories with the plugin from the movie view. I know there are other plugins that could do that, but then you have to start another plugin (which sucks and takes more time). It's even faster then to login with SSH and do a "mkdir xxx". When I have created the directory I can move movies to these directories from the movie overview which is nice. But as said... F Y I... The trashcan expiration works as expected on Suomipoeka 0.95. Not as it's important, but a software update give one error every time it's tried because Suomipoeka 0.95 is newer than the one in the feed. Thanks for 0.95 ! /Per-Olov

I have noted that if the DM8000 is used for a long time without going into "stand by" and the HDD at the same time is used a lot, the temperature could go up quite a bit. I have measured this with a temperature probe. The hard disk temp sensor in the DM8000 shows similar values. Thanks But.... Nothing on that link says the newer version would fix this. And the linked koti.mbnet.fi/devnull/suomipoeka/change_history.txt is not reachable. But as it seems there is a newer version it's of course nice to upgrade. Why is 0.93 in the std plugins newnigma2 feed and 0.95 separately downloadable. I mean, it seems like 0.95 was available long before NewNigma2 2.8.3 release. Isn't 0.95 stable enough to be included in the official plugin feed? Thanks /Per-Olov

Hi Anybody that knows why suomipoeka wont empty trash after the set day count in the suomipoeka settings? How is it supposed to work? Should suompipoeka add a crontab entry like for example something like "find /hdd/movie/.trashcan/ -mtime XYZ -exec rm {} \;" or what? If so... Is it possible to link this button to the NewNigma2 services plugins menu instead? I mean, if a button leads to "null" and no action it's of course very easy to think it's a bug. Low priority to fix, but will in the end give a better overall quality feeling... Thanks Per-Olov

Good question.... I seems it's not a slot issue as they (SD and SDHC) are exactly the same. Also I _assume_ the corresponding Linux kernel can handle SDHC. Maybe this is a problem i all Dreambox images, not just NewNigma2? If anybody could bring some light over this it would be very much appreciated. /Per-Olov

When choosing "remove plugins" in 2.8.3 it says "No new Plugins found". In 2.8.2 I got a list and could choose what plugin to remove. It seems to work from the "newnigma2 services" menu though... If I remember it right it worked both ways before (i.e both the services menu and the std plugin menu)... /Per-Olov

Hi I have in 2.8.2 used an old Panasonic 256 MB Secure Digital card (SD) which have worked... Now in 2.8.3 the same card still works ok.... But I also have a new card that came with a new digital camera (SanDisk SDHC Card 4GB) which simply refuses to show up as a device. A "dmesg" in the DM8000 console wont show anything. Hi Just updated to 2.8.3 from 2.8.2 (no new install). Seems to have worked out well as far as I can see.... Also I can see that this skin.xml as earlier mentioned is now automatically updated to handle suompipoeka plugin if using dreamTV-HD theme.
