    • DM500HD eSata Platte hängt sich im Betrieb aus

      moin,

      bin hier gerade etwas am verzweifeln. ich habe mir eine externe Festplatte (Toshiba Stor.E D10 1 TB) gekauft und per eSata an meine DM500HD gehängt. Das ganze lief auch eine weile ganz gut. Seit ein paar Tagen verabschiedet sich sie Platte jedoch immer im laufenden Betrieb, was heisst das sie zuerst immer langsamer wird und irgendwann dann gar nicht mehr verfügbar ist. Das ganze passiert sowohl beim anschauen/aufnehmen von Filmen, als auch beim FTP transfer, etc.
      Filesystemcheck lief jedoch problemlos und ohne Fehler durch.

      Da sich das Problem am besten beim FTP Transfer reproduzieren lässt, so ~600MB gehts los... hab ich mal einen Bootlog erstellt und einen Film hoch geschoben.

      Der Interessante Teil dürfte wohl folgendes sein. Ich häng aber trotzdem mal den kompletten Log an.

    • wie wärs wenn du die platte mal am pc testest wenn du kein esata am pc hast dann mit usb somit kannst du ausschließen das die platte nen defekt hat und deen fehler auf die dream oder das esata kabel beschränken

    • Die Steckverbindungen habe ich mehrfach überprüft, abgezogen, eingesteckt. Die sitzen auch soweit ich das sehen kann recht fest.

      Da ich leider keinen PC mit eSATA Anschluss besitze, hab ich die Platte nochmal wie evo vorgeschlagen hat per USB getestet. Knoppix gestartet und dann in der Konsole:
      su root
      time dd if=/dev/zero of=/mnt/sda1/4gb.test bs=1M count=4096
      und
      time dd if=/dev/zero of=/mnt/sda1/10gb.test bs=1M count=10240

      dort bringt sie so ~25MB/s (das sollte die 100Mbit ziemlich genau 2 mal abdecken) und dmesg spuckt auch keinen Fehler aus.

      Die Platte hat also wie es scheint schon mal keinen Schaden. Nun kommen ja theoretisch nur noch die eSata Anschlüsse an der Dreambox und/oder der Platte, oder ein defektes Kabel in Frage...

    • Denke nicht. die platte wird zumindest mit 512-byte sektoren erkannt.

      Wenn du schon alle Steckverbindungen geprüft hast dann könnte das Kabel defekt sein.
      Am besten du prüfst das noch mit einer 2. Festplatte, sollte es wirklich an der Box liegen so wirst du wohl ums einschicken nicht herum kommen.

      Ich befürchte es auch. ;( Naja ich werde jetzt erst mal ein anderes Kabel besorgen und ggf noch eine andere Platte zum testen. Danke erst mal für Eure Hilfe

      habe genau dasselbe Problem mit einer STOR.E D10 1,5 TB

      Habe die Platte zurückgeschickt zum Umtausch.

      Hat sich irgend eine Lösung bzw. Ursache gefunden.

      PS. Habe die STOR.E vom eSata Kabel genommn und eine 500 GB Platte angestöpsel

      gemountet und läuft ohne mullen und knullen!!

      Kabelfehler scheidet aus.

    • Ehrlich gesagt habe ich das ganze, nachdem ich auf ein NAS umgestellt habe, gar nicht mehr großartig weiter verfolgt. Ich dachte mir

      1. steht sowieso irgendwo nen "Kasten" rum bei der DM500HD in Verbindung mit Festplatte
      2. macht es beim schneiden oder Filme kopieren schon einen unterschied ob man mit 100 oder 1000Mbit kopiert (vom PC)
      3. Kann jeder im Netzwerk problemlos auf alle Filme zugreifen

      Aber wenn Du schreibst das die 500er Platte funktioniert und bei Dir der gleiche Fehler mit der Toshiba Platte auftrat, liegt doch die vermutung sehr nahe das der Murks bei der STOR.E D10 zu suchen ist.

      Zum Thema NAS.

      Ich habe eine 3 TB NAS aufm Schrank die NFS kann.

      Als Archiv wunderbar zu nutzen.

      Aber 2 HD Aufzeichnungen von 2 Geräten gleichzeitig und ein drittes anschauen

      schafft sie nicht. Freezer ohne Ende.

      Timeshift sowieso nicht.

      Eine gesunde eSATA macht das mit links.

      Neue Platte ist da!

      Am PC über USB rennt sie ganz normal.

      Über eSATA.....keine Chance !!

      Habe alles mögliche getestet.

      Box meldet Partitionsfehler.

      ???

      Vieleicht hat ja ein Linuxspezialist einen Rat.

    • Hallo an alle die vieleich ein ähnliches Problemchen haben.
      Erstmal Danke für dieses Thema.
      Ein Puzzle zum Erfolg.
      Für paritycheck habe ich eine schlechte und eine gute Nachricht.
      Zuerst die Schlechte:
      Die HDD, siehe oben, versteht sich nicht wirklich mit Linux-eSATA.
      Also nicht an der DM500 nutzbar.(ca.6 Stunden Nerven verbraucht)

      Jetzt die gute Nachricht:

      ICY BOX (Leergehäuse 3,5" eSATa Anschluss)ca. 25€ kaufen, Festplatte ausbauen.
      In ICY BOX montieren - fertig.
      Kurzes weiches eSATA-Kabel ist auch dabei.

      Platte rennt wie sie soll.

      Habe meine 3 Stunden unter Vollstress getestet.

      Kein einziger Ausetzer oder Freezer.
      Falls noch Fragen gerne..

      Das ist ärgerlich, solange es aber "nur" an der Platte liegt war es eben ein Fehlkauf, was immernoch besser ist als ein defekter SATA Chip/Anschluss an der Box. Ich denke ich werde es dann auch nochmal mit SATA versuchen. :box:
      Das NAS könnte ich ja parallel nutzen und Nachts die neuen Aufnahmen per cronjob hochschieben.... mal sehen.

      Noch ein Nachtrag zu diesem Festplattenproblem.
      Ich habe wohl mit der endlosen Probiererei mit der maroden Platte das Image versaut.
      Es war, auch mit einer neuen HDD, kein Test und keine Initialisierung mehr möglich.

      Also habe ich das aktuelle Unstable geflasht und alles funzte wie neu.
