I see that the latest version of Newnigma has miniDLNA but it's server.

Is there any way to have dreambox as client? For example I'm running media server (dlna) on Windows 7 and want to watch a home video on dreambox.

No one responsed to my question so I guess it's not possible to play anything on Dreambox. The only way is still VLC.
