Play media files via LAN

I have been searching and searching, and then a little googling

But can't find an answer.

Is it possible to use your DM800/SE to play media files (dvd, divx, mkv and so on) via LAN (computer or NAS)?

IF YES... is it easy to setup, or do you have to be a linux hardcore, to create and edit some specific files?

sure,

just mount your NAS or PC-Drive in the Network Settings.

Then u can browse and play all files from your dreambox

the 800se can play most video files

mkv, mp4, divx, xvid and and and....

Okay, think I found it... in Settings, system, network.

Mounted a folder on server. But it can't play divx, and it freezes with xvid.

Will try some more later..

It was the DM800 I was testing with...

But will try the 800SE in the weekend.

The DM800 don't play any media files except it's own recordings?

yes, the 800 just can play a few media files, mpg, mpeg, ts ...
