How to FTPs a large files such as Picon directory with high-speed to the EXT4 filesystem?

Because FTPs a large files with the dcc is very time consuming and slow.

via FTP with Filezilla or via Network drive with a samba share.

can you explain a more about how to use a samba protocol for this purpose?
Is there a tutorial thread here or anywhere else related to this Subject?

it will be as slow as over ftp, if you tranfser the content of directory instead the directory with samba too

example
put all your picons into the folder piconHD on your Computer
transfer the directory "piconHD" to the desitination on your dreambox (eg. /media/USB)

This will be done in a few seconds. If you mark 200 picons instead, the tranfer will take serveral minutes

I am using Dombo and do not want to use a separate USB for Picon.and I do not use a harddisk.
When I FTPs the PiconHD folder to the path that USB Stick mounted on it, The transfer operation still very slow.
