we removed this function, because nobody wants it and now all ask why dont it work. some statements/messages after we implemented this function were very helpful.
but u can copy the xml to your newnigma2HD-skin dir and rename it to skin.xml. it should work, if you have installed the weather plugin. -

maybe this is a better solution. download, extract the zip file and copy it to /etc/enigma2/. restart your gui.
bessere loesung. die zip herunterladen, entpacken und nach /etc/enigma2/ kopiere. gui neustarten. -

1.Is it the same procedure for DM800HD se?
2.Is it necessary to add some weather icons, or just skin_user.xml?

2. which weathericons should be added? you can define in the skin_user.xml what ever you need.

I did exactly, but it does't work. After restarting of GUI only a green screen and gears forever. I had to remove it!

you can find the crashlog in /media/hdd/*.log. please attach that log here.

connect to your box via ssh/telnet. u can use putty for example.
another possibility is using the webinterface. connect to your box via browser. go to extras -> webadmin -> terminal or go to "list installed" and enter the word "weather" (without " "). must look like my attached screenshot. -
