Please add this feature

    • Please add this feature

I love Newnigma2, but I saw one feature in OpenPLi that i miss in Newnigma.

If you rewind timeshift and watch material delayed and you accidentaly push button to change channel I would like to see confirmation alert "time shift is played, are you sure you want to change channel?" or something like that. I changed channel many times and lost my shifted material. Please implement this and it will be great. Of course it would be good to add on/off toggle in options.

With that feature Newnigma2 would be perfect to me.

Thanks for all your hard work

I don't know what version of Permanent Timeshift you are using, but guess what the Timeshift-Save action on zap setting is for ???

I use the latest 1.5 version. The function you are talking about is something completely different. You have to first push "save timeshift after current event" and then when you try to change channel it will ask what to do. To save and stop record or don't save.

What I mean is function to always ask on ZAP when you already pushed pause (so the material is delayed) or rewinded movie and you watch it with delay. It is implemented in OpenPli to prevent accidental loose of timeshift.

I already contacted creator of Permanent Timeshift and he replayed me that it should be system option and I should contact Newnigma developers.
    • this is only a handfull lines of code in the plugin ... help yourself ...

But I don't want this, because timeshifts are NOT recordings, so you are not entitled of loosing anything, unless you specify that you want to keep and this is exaclty the implemented option.
    • No because this is not the way I want it to be. For me asking on Zap for a Timeshift would be annoying, especially when Permanent Timeshift is on, because it would make Zapping a pain.

I think you don't understeand what I mean.

Imagine you watch a movie. Then phone calls. You hit pause. After half an hour you hit play. So you watch movie delayed by 30 min. Then you ACCIDENTALLY click ZAP+. And then you cry because you loose all timeshifted material.

I mean don't ask for timeshift when you watch "LIVE" channel. I mean only ask when you paused before
    • I'm sorry, but I don't ACCIDENTIALLY Zap because I use standard keymap which will ONLY Open the Channel List and NOT do any harm.

If I then press OK to really switch channel I deffinitely don't want to be asked!

    • You should uninstall the plugin "permanent timeshift" so it will work as described in your first post. This is not a feature NN2 has to add, this is the normal standard! You have installed a plugin which changes the standard behavior.

Ok but Newnigma doesn't have timeshift enabled by default. It is only enabled when you hit pause. I like PTS because I can rewind always. Or is there a way to have always enabled timeshift without PTS?
    • No, NN2 works here as the original DMM image. But as Gutemine said, this feature would be a big pain on zapping through the channel list, if it asks every time...So as Gutemine is one of the developers of the Plugin it seems rather hopeless that he will implement something against his beliefs...

    • No the Permanent Recording I only hand my fingers in at the very early stages, but Alt Shift and Auto Timeshift are mine :P

But they are much simplier, they just automate the pressing of the timeshift button ;)

But technically as the setting and code for protection is already there it is just a few lines of code to activate them already on Pause, but as I already explained, I'll NOT do it, because this is not MY normal use case.
