crash every day

    • crash every day

I'm not sure if this topic is related to the other topic (auto reboot), but my dreambox 800, which had the latest software update, crashes every day.

One day, it crashes while it is playing and stops everything.
The other day, the standby-clock is still visible but was frozen on a time in the middle of the night.

I have now restored the version 2.3.2 without the update and I will monitor how it behaves.

question : Is there a log file that I can see WHY it crashes ?

      Kind regards,
      Stefaan
    • Just have a look at "/media/hdd". There should be some files beginning with enigma_crash.

    • no such file

      Yesterday evening...it was 'freezing" again.
I switched it off and I also switched off the external disk drive (which is mounted on /media/hdd).
and I saw that this morning the clock on the LCD was on 22:42 last night.
      So i crashed again.
and I did not find any crash-log on /media/hdd

So I will flash everything again from scratch and see how it behaves afterwards.

I had completely reflashed my dm800 with the latest newnigma.
And...when I zal into the HD channels, only the sound zaps...but the screen stays black.
      Very strange.
This version does not really look stable to me.

      Hi,

it is stable, i used it for several weeks without any serious problems. The behaviour on HD channels only sound is apearing and no picture i can confirm some times. In this case switch to the next HD channel and the picture will also appear. If you then zapp back to the first HD channel the picuture will also be shown. I think this is no NewNigma² problem, but a common DMM problem.

      cheers

No, I did switch to almost all the HD channels and they did not appear.
      And...everynight, it crashed.
Even with a brand new flash, and only new settings files en a modified cccam.cfg.
No other things. So the installation was very basic.

I have tested most of the images. And to be honest, I like NewNigma the best.
But since I have those problems...I was forced to go back to Gemini.
With Gemini, I have no problem at all...I'm lucky as otherwise it could have been the hardware.
But now everything suns very smootly and stable.

Sorry...maybe I will get back when there is a newer version.
