Suomipoeka

    • Hi

      Will koti.mbnet.fi/devnull/suomipoe…omipoeka_0.9.5-r0_all.ipk work on DM8000?

Asking as koti.mbnet.fi/devnull/suomipoeka/downloads/ contains a specific DM600 version which confuses me.

Also... If anyone is using this, a comment about its usefulness and quality would be very much appreciated.

      Thanks

      Hallo,

I use for several month and I think that it is one of the most usefull plugins for the dreambox. I can recommend very much. I have no problems with it.

I have installed it on my DM8000 and DM800. You can install it over the Blue-Panel

      Regards

      DDaev
    • Thanks for that

I can see now that is was in the install repository and easy to install. Seems nice...

      Two questions though...

      1.
Do you restart enigma every night? (I just disabled that function...)

      2.
What is the difference of the blue and green movie icons in the list?

      Many thanks in advance

      Regards

    • No... It works almost perfect...

When viewing recordings and look in the right frame we have an issue. Not big but an issue...

The issue is that the day, date and time info will overlap the EPG info field from the recording. The day, date and time of the recording will always be in the same place. If the info/EPG text of the recorded program is more than two rows it will be placed in a layer below the day, date and time information and all EPG text from the recording can't be read.

I have to revert back and see if I can solve it later when I have time.

Also... I can see now that the original video view in the suomipeka have to few rows when reading the EPG text field. And the field is not dynamically extended when there is more that three rows of text even though it's plenty of room on the screen.... To see all info you have to click "info". But at least it wont overlap as it did with the skin.xml update.

    • How do I make a screenshot? Digital camera? Or are there any easy available tool for it? A plugin perhaps...

Isn't it enough with the description of the problem a few posts up in this thread?

    • nice

I will do that when I get back home and then post it (on Sunday). So I hope the code isn't locked before sunday....

      Thanks

One possibility would be to decrease the font size of the short description. Look for the lines
      <widget source="Service" render="Label" position="790,40" size="300,57" font="Regular;20" foregroundColor="#cccccc">
      <convert type="MovieInfo">ShortDescription</convert>
      </widget>

You can set the position a little bit higher ( position="790,38" ) and change the font to "Regular;17" (see screenshots before and after). But I don't know what happens, if the description needs a third line now (I do not have a recording with this property). Try for yourself.

Other possibility would be to lower all of the following positions

What do you mean by this ? I see more line from the extended info (see screenshot). But I do not know if it is possible to extend this dynamically, I think you would have to change the code of the plugin. But what is the problem to press "info" instead of "arrow down" ?

    • Hi

I can see you have a screenshot showing the overlap problem (screenshot no 2)... Of course it's not a big issue to press the info button. But... It's not 100% and many small issues like this make my wife angry with the change from Topfield to DM8000.

But it would be nice if an update of the next release skin will also handle this issue that now is known... Of course I can look into it myself... But I am as a new user of DM8000 still a newbie (despite my 17 year unix experience). I first have to learn how everything is built before I can be of any use and commit things...

Why must the date be in the middle of the the EPG text in the first place? Who coded this? Why can't the date instead be at the top of the frame and the rest of the right frame be used for the EPG info text?

(I will not send screenshots as we now already have one showing the overlapping issue)

      Thanks

Pressing the info-button is similiar e.g. to get the complete epg information when you are in the channel selection. It's 100% Enigma2, so I fear your wife has to get used to it.

I don't know who coded that, I found the lines, I attached earlier, in a former version of the skin.xml.
You want to look it your way, others want to look it their way, so feel free to change the positions to your taste. You could also ask, why the date (date of the recording, not the actual date) is in the right frame at all, because it is also shown on the left, right from the title of the movie.
I'm also a newbie, but look to the lines and you will understand very quickly, how the different parts of the frames are coded in the skin.xml. Change it the way you want to have it look like.
    • I will definitely take a look at it as soon as I have some time to spend as the coding is not finished yet from my point of view. But it's of course not critical either... Stability is more important :D

      Thanks for your inputs

    • Hi

Just updated to 2.8.3 from 2.8.2 (no new install). Seems to have worked out well as far as I can see.... Also I can see that this skin.xml as earlier mentioned is now automatically updated to handle suompipoeka plugin if using dreamTV-HD theme.

As I have have earlier said.... this is not nice done I post my own screenshot of it. here...

      [Blockierte Grafik: http://www.incedo.eu/~sjoholmp/misc_internet_links/newenigma2_suomipoeka_dreamTV-HT-skin-problem.jpg]

No matter what people say (incl tjorben), it would at least be possible to choose where to place the date(month/day info to avoid this shown overlapping. Ok , there are several ways to read this info text anyway... But no matter what way you choose to show it, it should look ok, don't you think? Especially if we would like to have a professional touch of the NewNigma2 releases. If we don't care, well... then it's ok..
