2.8.4 NOT sending MOVE command to rotor

    • 2.8.4 NOT sending MOVE command to rotor

Randomly the MOVE command is no longer send to the rotor. This happens frequently and resetting the box (restarting) will not help. It s just (if you re lucky) stuck on 1 sat and altough you get moving dish picture, the rotor just sits there..no move command whatsoever.

This started happening from 2.8.2 and on ... turning the dm800 from a great box to a shit box.

      I hook up the rotor to the 7000, dm600, 7020, ALL working fine ! 2.8.3 and 2.8.4 nghtmare enigma2

Anyone has a fix for it ?
    • RE: 2.8.4 NOT sending MOVE command to rotor

go use gemini if u want, a dead-patched-enigma2 yeah thats cool. maybe u had test our unstable with new kernel and say if it works. but if u want gemini pls use it.
    • RE: 2.8.4 NOT sending MOVE command to rotor

Hmm ..lol hence first gemini does suck , i don't like it, and newnigma way better, to make sure it s wasn't a bad 'update' as you mention it, i reflashed 2.8.4 from scratch -> same result, the motor won t BUDGE, it says moving but it just stays on astra 1 ... (lucky for me still picure somewhere huh) so it is DEF newnigma2 doing this.

Any driver I can update ?
    • Maybe, you can test our unstable Image >> download unstable <<

    • nah no worries, i am too old for it to get touched by it ... :) anyway

I flashed the latest unstable one, nice start logo but i get same restut, motor wont budge .. so just to be really sure, flashed gemini crap again, and then motor working fine ... i never had problems actually with rotor settings till newnigma 2.8.3... from that version on it had random stops, and as random as it would be stuck i would start again..

First impression was my STAB HH120 is dead ... but turns out i am not alone with this problem, more forums mentioned it and it was Enigma2 problem, not mod based versions like yours ... so i updated kernel drivers and with 2.8.4 it worked well again for a period, now went down again ... so logically I would say the rotor died; but if I hook up a 7000 it s working perfectly ...

I noticed the power settings have changed over the last few versions, could it be powerrelated ? 800ma is standard settings but mght not be enough or too much ? I remember dm7000 being on 30ma, not 800ma ... ?

Anyway, now going to try to flash 2.8.1 older version , see if that solves my problem. Kinda sad i need to go back to an older version, but hence, running out of options.

Please dude, no offence, but keep your shit to yourself. It s not helping .. i am in the satscene for over 20 years, D2Mac (that doesn t ring a bell for you does it ?!) so STFU ...(Ds9-Filofx, doesn t ring a bell neither huh) ... secafrance ? no bell neither huh .. Happy for you your box is fine. Now sssscht

Anyway, flashed the box with 2 8 4 again, and before restoring my old settings i tried getting the motor to run, nada ... won't budge. Went to check drivers on opendb/ see if i could find kernel dvb driver update but nothing, i figure something is wrong with it, as in other forums the "move" command is skipped sometimes. When I DO get the rotor to turn it works flawlessly , but as of today it s giving me a headache ... in a way I wish it was the rotor at least the problem would have been solved :)

Could it be a plugin messing up the disecq settings ? Satpos plugin is no longer moving the dish neither ..

Have a friend in the UK with same problem and it occurs randomly... so really not just me.

      you installed this enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-positionersetup ?

" Satpos plugin is no longer moving the dish neither .. "

has been on the box for years now ...

Anyway i am debugging it now, actually found ou usb was sucking power too , so actually considering dm800 poweroutput has glitches.

But nevermind, i ll find it myself ...thx for your efforts.
