DVD backup error in 3.0

    • RE: DVD backup error in 3.0

      Tnx...

      That worked.

Ok, so the DVD backup package that is needed was not ok it the default package list in the 3.0 image? I thought the package list was loaded from the mirror.... But it seems the list of available packages is local and can be updated manually when needed...

I can see that from the picture. But I did not choose that feed. Also.. I think it actually was _you_ in a post that earlier said that standard installs (if not tampered with) always go from the stable feed. And that also make sense to me...

I have not done anything on my newly installed 3.0 image but regular installs and config in the gui and fixed some users and symlinks on the command line. I.e I have not modified any feed configuration!

Why is then 3.0 trying to install from the unstable feed? It seems it stopped trying from the unstable feed and took the package from the stable feed when I (after your answer) run "opkg update".

As said in the earlier post, now it works, but I an of course curious why a default 3.0 tried to install from the unstable feed....

I have used the GUI only with:
Managage additional software -> Online installer -> add/remove plugins
      and
Managage additional software -> Online installer -> show all packages

So _IF_ I installed the DVDbackup myself (don't remember if it was in 3.0 default or not), it sure was with one of the above....

Then I had the DVD backup as a plugin in the plugin menu (blue button -> Newnigma2 services -> plugin menu) But when I tried to use it it started to download DVDbackup from the unstable feed as it obviously was in the plugin menu but _not_ installed ???

AFTER that I did an "opkg update" and and "opkg install dvdbackup" (per your suggestion) and it worked. I could see that after the opkg update it no longer tried to use the unstable feed.

Does this mean the default image had wrong config about the feeds? Is it possible I have software installed then from the unstable feed. Asking as I have installed a _few_ :D softwares from the feed..
