New Dreambox features multi-colour display and HDMI
DM800 HD se available with immediate effect
Dream Multimedia, the leading provider of Linux-based set-top boxes, presents the second edition of the DM800 model, in time for the Christmas trade. The DM800 HD se features several new hardware components that are capable of fully utilising the considerable power of the Enigma2 operating system developed by Dream.
The design is in line with that of the DM8000 HD PVR and the DM500 HD models. A new feature is the multi-coloured OLE display on the front panel of the Dreambox. On the rear panel, users will find, among others, two USB 2.0 interfaces as well as an HDMI output for loss-free transmission to the television set.
Naturally, the DM800 HD se comes equipped with an Ethernet interface, as do all Dreamboxes. In addition, an external hard drive can be connected via an eSATA interface. The front panel provides two slots for Smartcards, hidden behind an elegant cover.
Internally, too, Dream has implemented several improvements in the box. A whisper-quiet cooler serves to cool the optionally fitted hard drive. The tuner has been further improved, and now provides even more stable reception, while the new processing unit increases the speed of this compact Linux receiver.
The proprietary Enigma2 operating system developed by Dream provides a multitude of application options. Dream Multimedia is marketing the DM800 HD se at an RRP of 499 Euros.
