Mounting dir from pc-server

    • Mounting dir from pc-server

      Hi,
      I've just updated to latest newnigma2, 3.1.2 i think.

I tried the mountmanager to mount a dir on my win7 statinary computer.
      active: enable
      Local Share name: movies
      Mount tyoe: NFS share
Server IP: 192.168.0.194 (i've shared folders /movies/movies with all priveligies)
      Server Share: movies/movies
      use as HDD replacement: yes
      Mount options: rw,nolock,tcp

The dm took about 5-10 minutes to do the actual mounting, then I could find the mount and it seemed good. But I could not see any files, nor if I use the network browser. I find the computer, but not any shared dir's or files.

Now I try to restart the dm, and then it hangs while booting.
Red led is flashing and no image on the TV.
I leave it like this for awhile, and then after about 10 minutes, the dm is slowly booting up again.

Seems to me that the mount is causing the slow boot.
As long as everything works, a slow boot is bearable.
But how can I play movies stored in the mount?
Nothing but the internal flash appears in the mediaplayer, or the media scanner.
The timeshift is not working either.

Most important for me is to be able to watch movies on my computer via dm to TV.
Has anyone any clues to what i'm doing wrong?
My skills with this is rather low, and i'll apreciate any help.
    • Do you have a nfs server running on your win7 ?

Because the mount type is NFS share at your example ...

If you don't have a nfs running you can try it with mount type CIFS ...

But I think win7 en the box wwith cifs are not best friends :(
      Why drink & Drive ?

    • Tried it and now I can actually see and play some files from the mediaplayer.

However, DTS sound don't work, nor can i play AVI it seems.
      Well, it works at least.
Thanks for the tip about cifs, dreamedge.

And I just noticed some strange thing, I read here on the forum that DVDplugin is a nice thing, but when I try to download plugins I just get a message that there are no plugins available? :|
I've not installed any plugins at all except those who comes with newnigma...
      Weird.

I have had problems with that as well.

I ended up editing the /etc/fstab on the DM8000 directly. Faster and it always work..

      Example:
      //192.168.0.13/med /media/net/med cifs username=pvr,password=XXXXXXXXX 1 0

Then you can do a "mount /media/net/med" or reboot the DM so the boot process do it instead.

I suppose you have the DM500HD, since you refer to diodes, and not Oled Display.

Not strange that you is not able to have DTS Sound, if you only use HDMI.

The optical output is used for DTS, everything else is sent trough the HDMI cable.

At major bug, if you ask me, since not all have recievers with HDMI in, then they have to use digital for DTS, and analog signal for the rest.
